LeVon Campbell, a native of Chicago, began his professional dance training began when he received a scholarship to join the Dance Theatre of Harlem as a trainee for the company.  After much hard work, Mr. Campbell soon left the Dance Theatre of Harlem and became a member of The Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre second company.  Always striving to move forward, Mr. Campbell soon joined Flocks of George Faison Universal Dance Experience.  His dance experiences also include The Katherine Dunham Dance Company, Morris Donaldson Dance Company, Rhondo Dance Theatre, Disney on Paradise, Gene Marriancio Dance Company, Bryant Ballet and Sesame Street Live.

Mr. Campbell's Broadway and national touring credits include "The Wiz" with Stephanie Mills, "Raisin" with Virginia Capter, "Timbuktu" with Eartha Kitt, "Pal Joey '78" with Lena Horne, and Donald McKayle's "Evolution of the Blues."  Opera credits include "Un Re Enscolto" and "Amistad."

Mr. Campbell's directorial, choreographic and teaching credits include Arneitha Walker, Associate Director of the Barbados Dance Theatre, State University of New York at Binghampton, University of Buffalo, Joel Hall Dance Center, Studio One Conservatory, Hyde Park School of Ballet, Erickson Institute of Early Childhood Advancement, Chicago Moving Company, School Street Movement, Set Police and Dominique College in Los Angeles.

Mr. Campbell's television credits include, "Scouts Honor" with Gary Coleman, "Soul Train" with Don Cornelius, "Hoodlum" with Lawrence Fishburne, "Fame" with Debbie Allen, and a feature for the television series "Nurses," Sesame Street Live" and Sesame Street Theme Park in Japan.

BALLET MASTER
Kenya Lockett began her career in Texarkana at Dixie Splawn School of Dance, Kenya has been dancing since the age of 3 and began performing at a young age for various events in Texarkana as well as the Texarkana Community Ballet. She attended the University of North Texas where she continued learning advanced ballet while earning a Bachelor degree in Business Administration.  Kenya has since been performing and instructing around the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex for various special events, conventions and is a member of several dance teams and dance companies in Dallas.  Ms. Lockett has received technical instruction by Dance Masters from companies such as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem, Alvin Ailey, and Debbie Allen Studios just to name a few.  Kenya began performing with Happy Nia Dance Theater in Spring 2009 and is a 1st company member.
Omar Humphrey began his dance career as a summer artist with The Black Academy of Arts & Letters, Inc.  He has been a featured singer and dancer with the annual production. Omar also serves as the Directors Assistant for TBAAL. Omar has been dancing with HappyNia since 2007.  Omar is a student at the prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts.  There he is a dancer with the African Dance Ensemble and a member of Moussa Diabates West African Dance Company. At Booker T. Washington,Omar is a member of the Reperatory Dance Company. Omar currently is the dance instructor for the HappyNia Academy and Second Company.  This is Omar's first season with the performing company of HappyNia.
Amatulla Rice began her dance career as a summer artist with The Black Academy of Arts & Letters, Inc. Amatulla has participated in the summer program since she was very young. Amatulla has been dancing with HappyNia since 2007.  Amatulla is a student at the prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts. This is Amatulla's first season with the performing company of HappyNia.
Kinesha Collins started dancing at the age of two at Mary Lois School of Dance, where she was trained in ballet and tap.She is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. There she was a part of LunaSol Ballet Folklorico and the African Dance Ensemble. She taught tap at TBAAL's summer enrichment program in it's 32nd season. Kinesha first joined HappyNia in the summer of 2008 and returned in the fall of 2009. She is currently the ballet and jazz iustructor at Mary Lois School of Dance. Next fall, she will be attending Wiley College in Marshall, TX. Kinesha plans on being an elementary school teacher when she graduates from college.
LaMia Stromile began her dance career as a member of the community dance group "Special Forces". She has been a protege of Dereque's since he discovered her talents and was an original dancer with the flagship Dallas HappyNia company.  LaMia participates every year in the summer arts program with The Black Academy of Arts & Letters, Inc.   LaMia is currently a student at Lancaster High School where is a member of their performing dance ensemble. LaMia recently was accepted to the University of North Texas and will be expanding her performance career. Other notable achievements include a fellowship with Deeply Rooted Dance Company in Chicago, and most recently she has danced with Moussa Diabates West African Dance Troupe and she has been a featured dancer in the annual TBAAL Civil Rights Concert. e to add text.
My'Kal Stromile began his dance career as a member of the community dance group "Special Forces". Immediately when  Dereque's saw My'kal's raw talent, he knew he was destined to do great things in dance at such a young age.  My'kal has been a featured dancer in the The Black Academy of Arts & Letters Civil Rights movement concert since he was 9 years. Mykal was a Radio Disney dancer and the first African American Male to hold down this role. He was  cast in the Nutcracker with Morrows Performing Arts Studio in Plano, Texas where he was the first and only African American selected for the role.   My'kal is currently a student at Greiner Middle School Performing Arts Center and he plans to attend Booker T. Washington High School for Performing & Visual Arts as well. The raw talent that My'Kal possesses came to the attention of the Alvin Ailey Summer Youth Program.  He was selected among many to attend the prestigious school of dance.  My'kal has danced with Chicago's Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre's summer intensive progam  and is always a featured dancer in the annual Summer Youth Program produced by The Black Academy of Arts & Letters, Inc. Michael is currently studying as an apprentice dancer with Dallas Black Dance Theatre II. Michael is excited about being a  first company dancer with HappyNia.

Angela Dearman is a Dallas native that has been performing for the past 10 years.  She received her formal training at the University of North Texas (Denton Campus) where she received a bachelor's degree in both Dance and Psychology.  She has also trained at Dallas Black Dance Theatre and the Ailey School.  With a specialization in modern, ballet, and African dance techniques, she has performed independently as well as with Freedom Dance Ensemble and DBDT II.  This is her first season with Happy Nia Dance Theatre.
Shaniit Mahone
Ebony Rodriquez  is a recent graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts.There she was a dancer with the African Dance Ensemble and a member of Moussa Diabates West African Dance Company. Ebony has also studied cultural dance at prestigious schools such as Debbie Allen Dance Academy and Jacobs Pillow. Ebony is a current student at Texas A&M University Commerce where she was former president and dance instructor of their longest running dance group "Under Construction".  This is Ebony's first season with the performing company of HappyNia.
Consuela Y. Buckley holds a B.F.A. in dance from Texas Christian University but has also received extensive dance training in both Los Angeles (L.A. Performing Arts High School) and her native New York (Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and a full scholarship as a Steps on Broadway Ensemble Member).  She has danced and choreographed for award winning gospel artists such as CeCe Winans and Kirk Franklin.  In addition, her dancing has been viewed in various touring stage plays. She has worked with Dallas-based dance companies, Ruwach en Jasmine and Beckles Dancing Company as well as New York-based Footprints Dance Company. Her dancing has also been viewed on the internationally acclaimed “Sesame Street”.  Ms. Buckley’s gift has frequently opened doors for performing and implementing dance workshops in South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. This is her first season with HappyNia.
